BOARD MEETING
FEBRUARY 18, 2009

MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE- PRESIDENT-JAY DARLING, VICE-PRESIDENT-RICHARD PEARSON, SECRETARY- RENEE HEARN, TREASURER-PHYLLIS HAYES, J.R. STEELE,  JOHN WRIGHT, RANDY CAMPBELL, JOHN OAKLEY, MICHAEL ALLABAND, CAROL  DRONEY, RONALD BROBST

VENDOR FEES WERE DISCUSSED BY THE BOARD AND THE PRICES FOR THE 2009  SEASON WILL REMAIN THE SAME AS THE 2008 SEASON.

THE BOARD DISCUSSED THE RADIOS FOR THE OFFICIALS AND THE NEED OF SOME  NEW RADIOS FOR THE 2009 SEASON. THE BOARD VOTED TO SPEND $2,500.00 TO  PURCHASE NEW RADIOS.

THE JUNIOR 1 ROOKIE CLASS GEAR RATIO WAS DISCUSSED AND THE BOARD VOTED  TO CHANGE THE RULE FROM 17- 5 TO 18-65.

THE KART CLUB WILL BE INSTALLING A NEW GATE FOR ENTRANCE INTO THE TRACK AND THIS SHOULD BE FINISHED BY OPENING DAY.

THE BOARD VOTED WE WILL NO LONGER RUN THE JUNIOR OUTLAW CLASS, INSTEAD THE U.S. 13 KART CLUB WILL HAVE A JR UNRESTRICTED FLATHEAD  CLASS, AGE LIMIT OF 10-15 YEARS OLD , WEIGHT LIMIT OF 300 POUNDS.

THE BOARD DISCUSSED TRACK CLEAN-UP ON MARCH 7, 2009, BY A UNNANIMOUS VOTE- ALL DRIVERS TO RECEIVE THE 5 BONUS POINTS FOR TRACK CLEAN-UP MUST  BE AT THE TRACK AND PARTICIPATE.

Members in attendance -President-Jay Darling, Vice-President-Richard Pearson, Secretary-Renee Hearn
Michael Allaband, Carol Droney, John Wright, J.R. Steele, Randy Campbell, John Oakley,
Phyllis Hayes- Treasurer was Excused, Ronald Brobst was absent.

Board Members for the 2009 season were welcomed by President Jay Darling. Responsibilities of the members were discussed with everyone being aware they need to come up with one (1) $300.00 sponsor to benefit the U.S. 13 Kart Club. Members were also made aware that they must hold there selves to higher standards by being on the Board.

Mike Reynolds was nominated to be the WKA Delaware Dirt Series Race Director.
By a unanimous vote Mike Reynolds will be the Race Director for the six (6) WKA Delaware Dirt Series events held at the U.S. 13 Kart Club in Delmar DE.

The announcement system was discussed and we will be renting 2 speakers and purchasing an Amp, this was a major problem during the 2008 season and this will solve it , the existing speakers will also be tied into this system and the kart club will have 2 cordless microphones so the announcer will be able to interview drivers, and walk around the entire track with one.

Safety of the karters was discussed and for the first practice event there will be a pre-tech for SAFETY.

Purchasing a new tractor for the track was discussed. This would be paid for by the U.S. 13 Kart Club. If anyone is interested in helping this happen please contact President Jay Darling.

By-Laws were discussed and were started by last year board member Shannon Argo the 2009 board will see
that this job gets completed, with Michael Allaband and Carol Droney volunteering there time..
